Fishing Girl – Action & Adventure – 80 Points – Download
Fishing Girl is based on the ‘Fishing Girl Challenge’ which essentially gives developers a blueprint and assets for the game and then lets them implement the ideas and add their own.

The essential premise of Fishing Girl is to cast your rod, catch fish which in turn give you money. You can then buy better rod’s and better lure’s which will allow you to cast your rod futher and attract bigger fish.

One of the core concepts of the game was to only use one button for everything. So almost everything from casting your rod to entering the shop is done with A.

You cast your rod with A, holding it down will allow it to go further. As your lure passes a fish it will bite it (if it is suitable). You can then reel it in for money. The bigger fish require better lure’s which you can buy from the shop. When catching the deepest fish you must avoid the sharks whilst reeling them in.

You can optionally play with a timer in the corner that increases as you catch fish. This option makes the game a little more arcade-like but it still remains one of the most relaxing and addictive games on the service.

Even after multiple playthoughs the charming artstyle and simple but refined and fun gameplay keep me coming back. My only complaint would be that I wish the upgrades kept coming as you can be fully upgraded within 10-15 minutes. But if the only thing wrong with your game is that people want more then it is not a bad thing.

Overall, Fishing Girl is easily one of the best things you can buy on Xbox LIVE for $1 and also ranks as one of my personal favourite Xbox LIVE Indie Games. A must purchase.

Johnny’s Skydiving Lessons – 80 points – Action & Adventure – Download

Your parachute has fallen out of your plane and you must catch it. Not very fun.

War: The Card Game Advanced – 80 points – Card & Board – Download

Mix of a card game and QTE’s. When your card pops up to must press the corresponding buttons on it. Nice presentation but again, not much fun.

PyroManic – Solo – 240 points – Shooter – Download

A bit like Space Invaders but the falling enemies are color coded and you must destroy them by pressing the face button that is the same colour. Not bad.

Fishing Girl – 80 points – Action & Adventure – Download

Great little fishing game with great art. Could be as addictive as Miner Dig Deep.
