Trial Impressions – 1 August 2009

Only one game was released over the last 24 hours so I once again have tried some of the other games released recently.

Note: These impressions are based off 8 minutes of gameplay and are not an accurate assessment of the full product.

ghastlyGhastlyGhouls – 80 points – Action & Adventure – Download

Plays a little like the Pacifism mode from Geometry Wars 2, except it has none of the quality. Good choice of music though.

 

crescendoCrescendo Symphony – 240 points – Shooter – Download

A pretty polished horizontal shooter. Nice art but the gameplay and enemy variety are a little basic.

 

advそれでも、私は愛している – 240 points – Action & Adventure – Download

This game is part of the same series as the game above, though I couldn’t find it’s English name.

I guess the art is nice, if you are into that kind of thing. But it’s a japanese text adventure and I don’t read Japanese.

Following Microsoft’s announcement of several new countries being allowed access to Indie Games, the first Japanese game has shown up on the service.

Crescendo Symphony is a traditional 2d shooter with an anime artstyle.

Crescendo Symphony costs 240msp.
